“My name is Marcus Giesswein of giesswein.com. We are based in the center of the Austrian Alps. You see a lot of mountains, so it can be quite chilly in winter, and we have a lot of snow. It’s really nice nature surrounding us. Giesswein.com is shipping worldwide in over 89 countries. We have about 150 people working for us in our factory, and turnover is about 28 million euros.

“Our company was founded by my grandparents in 1954. Mostly our company was known for apparel made out of boiled wool. In the ’70s, my grandmother invented a new kind of premium slippers—a large slipper made out of wool. We are producing about one million pairs a year. And two years ago, we had another big success by launching a range of woolen sneakers, producing about 250,000 pairs per year.
