“Hi, I’m Adam Bullock. I’m Operations Manager at TopCashback.co.uk. TopCashback is the UK’s biggest free cashback website. Conversion rate to us as a business is essential, for us to turn the visitors that we get to the site into sign-ups, and then to turn them into active members.

“We’d been running our own Google split-tests on the site, but we seemed to struggle to get any significant results. So we’d make changes, and we’d never know if they’d made much of an impact at all. I suppose in a way we were sometimes scared of making big changes—but as soon as we got into it, we realized that it was the big changes that were suggested that would make the big differences.

“And I think that CRE took into consideration the ethos of our business before suggesting any changes so it wasn’t really an issue.

“We’ve managed to increase the sign-up rate by 17%. On the landing page for the members, we managed to increase the conversion rate by 74% by looking at the message and the structure of that page and actually improving that. So that was fantastic for our business.

“One of the best parts was as we were going along being able to see the positive results happening as we made the changes. So after our first call, we implemented the first test and straight away on Google Website Optimizer we could see the graph going up and the significant impact that the changes had had.
